Brook is about an acre in size and has 30 pegs (15 on each of the longer banks). It was re-stocked over the winter of 2019/2020 with all of the F1 Carp that used to be in Red Kite lake. These fish are extremely large for their species and are generally in the range of 3lb - 9lb+. See below Chris Davis with a 8lb 12oz F1 caught in February 2024. Although there are less carp (commons and mirrors) in the lake they are generally larger and in the 5lb - 12lb+ range. In addition there are a few Barbel to 4lb, Bream to 4lb and some small Roach and Perch.

All seven Islands are easily accessible on then pole and it is often this method that works best. The F1's often come shallow on the maggot or pellet in open water with the carp best targeted tight to the islands or the margins later in the day on meat, pellet, corn or paste. The method feeder tight to the islands can also work well for the carp.

For the Barbel worms, maggots or meat tend to work best.

The open matches at Oakfield are held on Brook lake every Wednesday and Saturday. See the matches page for details of these matches and how to book a peg.
